USATF – Arkansas Association Newsletter

December, 2009

Dear USATF Arkansas Members,

This brief newsletter will bring you up to date on some of the things happening in our Association. There is momentum building and a lot of positive things in store for the future. We hope that you will get involved to make our Association – and the sport that we love – strong in Arkansas.

NEW WEBSITE

We want to invite you to visit our new association website: www.usatf-ar.org. Please let us hear from you regarding your likes, dislikes, suggestions and comments.

“BY THE NUMBERS”

The purpose of this section is to provide our members with information about the overall membership makeup of this association. While that may be the purpose, the actual result will probably be an instant cure for insomnia! Anyway, let’s get started.

Membership: The number of members at the end of fiscal year 2009 (our fiscal year runs October 1 through September 30) was 257 – maybe the largest number in the history of the association. This was up from 180 in 2008. The ladies are outnumbered by more than three to one: there are 195 males and 62 females in the association.

Age Groups: Four members were born after January 1, 2000, seventy-three were born in the 1990’s, and forty-seven in the 1980’s. The 1970s produced twenty-three, the ‘60’s produced twenty-four. From the 1950’s we got twenty-nine members and thirty-two from the ‘40’s. To finish up the count, twenty-three members were born in the 1930’s and two in the 1920’s.

The remaining information is taken from membership applications and renewals. It is provided voluntarily and an individual may choose to be in more than one category.
